Haydee Ojeda-Fournier

Haydee Ojeda-Fournier is a breast imager trained in detecting early breast cancer utilizing multiple modalities, including mammography, digital breast tomosynthesis, ultrasound, molecular breast imaging, and breast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). She also performs image-guided breast biopsy to diagnose breast cancer, including MR guided vacuum assisted core biopsy. Dr. Ojeda is the medical director of the Division of Breast Imaging, director of the Breast Imaging Fellowship Program and director of medical student education in the Department of Radiology.

Dr. Ojeda has implemented new programs in the breast-imaging center including FNA (collaboration with cytology), Molecular Breast Imaging (collaboration with nuclear medicine), Digital Breast Tomosynthesis, abbreviated breast MRI program, and most recently lymphedema imaging (collaboration with plastic surgery). She has trained 36 fellows, 23 visiting scholars, mentored 25 residents, and 65 non-UCSD (predominantly international) students. Dr. Ojeda has supervised over 700 students in radiology rotations at UCSD.  In addition, Dr. Ojeda has published 55 scholarly articles, 20 book chapters and one textbook (Woman’s Imaging MRI with multimodality correlation). Dr. Ojeda has given 226 invited presentations both in the USA and internationally.
